Risk/Reward: If the share price rises above the strike price before expiration, the short call option can be exercised and the trader will have to deliver shares of the underlying at the option's strike price, even if it is below the market price. In exchange for this risk, a covered call strategy provides limited downside protection in the form of premium received when selling the call option.

Our free Forex course has been designed with you in mind. Trading can be a fairly subjective topic. The way that we have designed this course is to really get you thinking about certain topics and ideas. We want to align your thinking to an experienced trader. Trading involves a meticulous eye to detail in a robotic-like nature. It is not something that you can just turn on and off. Throughout this course you will start to think more about trading in a wider concept.

I gave A Complete Guide to Volume Price Analysis 4 stars when I started writing this review, but I've decided to make it 5 stars. Part of the reason for this upgrade is that I'm not aware of another book on VPA (or VSA), and I'm grateful to Anna for writing one. Also, I haven't put her recommendations to use yet. My next step is to go through the VPA book again and condense the principles onto a set of flash cards. Then I'll start with the smallest possible lot size (like she recommends), keep a journal, and mark up my flash cards as I go along. I'll update this review when I feel like I've got some meaningful experience.

Many different forex platforms exist to facilitate online trading. Most online brokers support the very popular MetaTrader 4 and/or 5 platforms from MetaQuotes that you can use online or download for free at the developer’s website and then install on your computer or mobile device so you can trade forex. Some brokers also have proprietary trading platforms you can download from their websites or use online. Either way, obtaining and using these platforms is generally quite simple using instructions your chosen broker will provide.
We also need to mention Euro and Japanese Yen as currencies that are also used in trades but not as much as the US dollar. This market is well known for being one of the most vibrant in the world where a lot of things are happening and changing each second. Most importantly, highly skilled traders can earn a lot, but on the other hand, there are investors whose profit soared in a short amount of time and then plunged even quicker. It requires dedication, concentration, and experience to embrace all necessary skills for trading in this market, but if you try a little bit harder, the expected profit can be guaranteed.
Leverage: Allows you to control bigger sums of money by borrowing from your FX broker so you can boost the profits of a trade. The standard leverage offered by most brokers is 1:50 and it can go as high as 1:500. Using a 1:50 leverage it means that you can control with every $1 from your account $50 in buying power. For example, if you invest $10,000 with a broker that provides you with 1:50 leverage it means that your total buying power is $500,000 (50 x $10,000).
While options are normally associated with high risk, traders have a number of basic strategies that have limited risk. And so even risk-averse traders can use options to enhance their overall returns. However, it’s always important to understand the downside to any investment so that you know what you could possibly lose and whether it’s worth the potential gain.

Options are contracts giving the owner the right to buy or sell an asset at a fixed price (called the “strike price”) for a specific period of time. That period of time could be as short as a day or as long as a couple of years, depending on the option. The seller of the option contract has the obligation to take the opposite side of the trade if and when the owner exercises the right to buy or sell the asset. Rosenberg, then an analyst at Merrill Lynch, wrote one of the definitive works on forex trading. It was first published in 1995, and ever since, analysts and traders have turned to his concise, intuitive, and brainy text. It combines the macroeconomics of foreign exchange and international monetary dynamics with fundamental and technical analysis. Rosenberg's ability to delineate clear connections between disparate financial and economic factors continues to make Currency Forecasting a go-to guide for currency traders.

Margin – To be able to trade on leverage, you need to put a small part of your trading account aside as collateral for the leveraged trade. Don’t worry, your broker does everything automatically for you. The margin will be returned to your trading account once you close your leveraged trade or it hits its exit price. The following table shows the required margin to open a trade, based on the used leverage ratio. For example, a leverage of 100:1 requires a margin of 1%.

Now, let's say a call option on the stock with a strike price of $165 that expires about a month from now costs $5.50 per share or $550 per contract. Given the trader's available investment budget, he or she can buy nine options for a cost of $4,950. Because the option contract controls 100 shares, the trader is effectively making a deal on 900 shares. If the stock price increases 10% to $181.50 at expiration, the option will expire in the money and be worth $16.50 per share ($181.50-$165 strike), or $14,850 on 900 shares. That's a net dollar return of $9,990, or 200% on the capital invested, a much larger return compared to trading the underlying asset directly. (For related reading, see "Should an Investor Hold or Exercise an Option?")
The basic mechanics of trading the forex market are similar to any other market. Buy low and sell high in the hope to generate a profit. Due to its unique characteristics, the forex market provides a wide range of trading opportunities that no other market does. The forex market, therefore, is very suitable for the novice trader that is looking to either make an extra income or a full-time trading career.
An alternative to call options are put options, which give the buyer the right to sell the underlying security at the strike price. Put options generally are bought when the purchaser expects the value of the stock, also known as the underlying security, to fall, and sold when the seller thinks the value of the stock is going rise or stay relatively constant.
A year or so later I ran across an article about Richard Dennis and the 'Turtle Traders'. I realized: a) people do make money doing these things, b) anyone can learn the methods, c) and there are experts out there who are willing to share their knowledge. I started looking for a good book again and almost immediately found Anna's books. Forex for Beginners was so cheap and the free sample indicated it would be an easy read. Halfway through, and also after reading comments about it on several forums, I was sold on VPA. I decided to re-open my FXCM practice account and try some of her recommendations, then read the next book (A Complete Guide to Volume Price Analysis) while waiting for my account to fund. She recommends not using a practice account for anything more than learning the interface, for several reasons: real money is more meaningful and lessons stick better, the practice account feed is usually not a real live feed even if they say it is, and the practice feed won't show you the sudden spikes in the spread caused by your broker sometimes taking advantage of a fast moving market. Forex for Beginners was very helpful in explaining how the different types of forex brokers' operations can work against your interests if you have the wrong type of broker, and how to find the right type so you're not betting against the house.

Pretty much everything you need to know before you decide to make your first trade. 90% of forex traders rush into making trades and as a result lose a lot of money (a lot!) Instead we recommend understanding everything from the ground up, what can go wrong, what the market usually does and how violent the movements can be between 2 currency pairs. This is a must read before making your first forex trade.
Under IBKR Lite, options for U.S. markets have no base fee and cost $0.65 each. Thanks to tiered pricing, costs can go down to $0.15 per contract with high volumes. All orders have a $1 minimum, but that $1 is a drop in the bucket for larger traders looking to take advantage of the unique tiered pricing structure. However, IBKR Pro account holders must keep a $100,000 balance or generate $10 in commissions per month to avoid a $10 monthly inactivity fee.
When to use it: A married put can be a good choice when you expect a stock’s price to rise significantly before the option’s expiration, but you think it may have a chance to fall significantly, too. The married put allows you to hold the stock and enjoy the potential upside if it rises, but still be covered from substantial loss if the stock falls. For example, a trader might be awaiting news, such as earnings, that may drive a stock up or down, and wants to be covered.

The question of choosing the best forex broker for beginners is a matter that any trader who wants to succeed in forex trading has to consider very seriously. Unfortunately, the subject is never mentioned in most of the so-called “intensive” forex seminars that many retail traders attend before putting their money into this risky market. Retail traders cannot trade the forex market directly. They can only do this through the services provided by forex brokers, who provide the trading platforms that connect all the players of the market together.

What is traded in Forex market? The answer is simple: currencies of various countries. All participants of the market buy one currency and pay another one for it. Each Forex trade is performed by different financial instruments, like currencies, metals, etc. Foreign Exchange market is boundless, with the daily turnover reaching trillions of dollars; transactions are made via Internet within seconds.

In the previous paragraph, we have mentioned the term leverage. It is important to say, that people join the Forex market because it provides them with higher leverage, which is different from other financial instruments. This means that you can borrow a higher amount of money from your broker for your investments. Furthermore, borrowing the money from your broker and higher investments will provide you with the bigger potential to make a profit, because you will earn a precise percentage of your investment.

This is a stunning innovation and has taken the concept of social trading to another level.

Good read and very useful the only part that lets this book down are the images! It is stated you can view the on her website but once you get there you need a password, what the password is your guess is as good as mine! Also several times in the book Anna will be talking about a set image but that image is a page back which is annoying when you're trying to read and scan the image.
What I try and do in all my books, is to level out you discover ways to apply that info that may make it easier to turn into a additional assured supplier. In any case, learning is all properly and good, however once we aren’t taught the proper approach to apply that info in a wise technique, then it is of little use. It is the software of data that empowers, and that’s what I’ve tried to do proper right here, and in my online teaching rooms, and all my books.

While reading the eBooks, you should favor to read large text. Generally, you'll see the text of the eBook will be in medium size. It is suggested to read the eBook with large text. So, boost the size of the text of the eBook while reading it on the monitor. Despite the fact that this can mean that you will have less text on each page and greater amount of page turning, you will manage to read your wanted eBook with great convenience and have a good reading experience with better eBook screen. It's suggested that never use eBook reader in full screen mode. It is suggested not to go for reading the eBook in full screen mode. Constantly prefer to read the eBook in exactly the same span that will be similar to the printed book. Test out various shapes or sizes until you find one with which you will be comfortable to read eBook.
A whole lot of traders only use micro and mini lots. The thing is, large accounts are using Standard lots as these can bring the most profit. If we use the dollar example from above, it would mean that 1 pip equals $10. If there is a 20 pip movement you would have an equivalent of $200. This shows great potential for both profits, and, unfortunately, losses. Like we already mentioned, Standard lots are only for larger accounts, and you would need to have a larger capital to be able to invest in these.
This strategy is the flipside of the long put, but here the trader sells a put – referred to as “going short” a put – and expects the stock price to be above the strike price by expiration. In exchange for selling a put, the trader receives a cash premium, which is the best upside a short put can earn. If the stock finishes below the strike price, the trader must buy it at the strike price.
The trader can set the strike price below the current price to reduce premium payment at the expense of decreasing downside protection. This can be thought of as deductible insurance. Suppose, for example, that an investor buys 1,000 shares of Coca-Cola (KO) at a price of $44 and wants to protect the investment from adverse price movements over the next two months. The following put options are available:
To trade 100.000$ with a margin of 1% which is 100:1, you will have to put 1000$ on your margin account. Even if it looks a bit higher and goes along with risk, have in mind that foreign currencies do not change significantly on the day of trading. They usually drop less than 1% daily. The leverage can be exceptionally helpful when you’re a beginner in the Forex trade market. The most proficient traders reckon that $1000 of investment should be the minimum starting point. The thing is that not many traders are willing to risk that much, but the leverage can allow them to increase their trading power.
Notice that we have mentioned the fact that a lot of trading will have to be done, both on demo and on a live account. So traders will have to understand the kind of platforms that they will need to use in order to get a lot of learning from those platforms. This article describes the forex trading platforms that beginners will need to use to take their skills to the next level.
