Prediction of various market indicators is an important issue in finance. This can be accomplished through computer models and related applications. It turned out that artificial models have both great advantages and some limitations for learning the data patterns and predicting future values of the financial phenomenon under analysis. In this paper we analyze the particular financial market ... [Show full abstract]View full-text
We also need to mention Euro and Japanese Yen as currencies that are also used in trades but not as much as the US dollar. This market is well known for being one of the most vibrant in the world where a lot of things are happening and changing each second. Most importantly, highly skilled traders can earn a lot, but on the other hand, there are investors whose profit soared in a short amount of time and then plunged even quicker. It requires dedication, concentration, and experience to embrace all necessary skills for trading in this market, but if you try a little bit harder, the expected profit can be guaranteed.
When it comes to trading foreign currency, you use a forex broker, also known as a currency trading broker, to place your trades. When you trade forex, you buy or sell in currency pairs, e.g. "EUR / USD" (Euro / U.S. Dollar). You open an account, deposit funds, then use the broker's trading platform to buy and sell currency using margin. The forex markets are open 24 hours a day, five days a week.
Most successful traders will only consider entering a trade if it meets a minimum risk/reward ratio they have decided upon as a trading criteria. For example, they might be willing to risk 100 pips on a trade under consideration to gain an expected 200 pips given the move they expect, so the risk/reward ratio of that trade would be 100:200 or 1:2.
Courtney Smith begins How to Make a Living Trading Foreign Exchange with an introduction to the world of forex that explains how the market works. But most of this 2010 work is devoted to making money, offering six strategies to earn a steady income by trading. He also provides important risk management techniques as well as material on the psychology of trading. It includes an explanation of Smith's unique "rejection rule," a strategy designed to double the profit generated from basic channel breakout systems.

As we mentioned earlier, sometimes an option gives you the right to buy a stock at a certain price, and sometimes it gives you the right to sell a stock at a certain price. And for every option holder, there's also someone on the other end who's on the hook if the holder exercises the option to buy or sell at the expiration date. Those are the basics of how to trade options.

A whole lot of traders only use micro and mini lots. The thing is, large accounts are using Standard lots as these can bring the most profit. If we use the dollar example from above, it would mean that 1 pip equals $10. If there is a 20 pip movement you would have an equivalent of $200. This shows great potential for both profits, and, unfortunately, losses. Like we already mentioned, Standard lots are only for larger accounts, and you would need to have a larger capital to be able to invest in these.

I'll keep this short and sweet... if you are doing any Forex trading this book is essential reading. I cannot emphasise this enough. There are so many pitfalls out there and whilst describing a great, logical strategy for trading using volume this book also explains how to avoid many traps. It's actually scary at first when you realise how little about the markets and their drivers you know. Beware of the market makers! :)
Margin – To be able to trade on leverage, you need to put a small part of your trading account aside as collateral for the leveraged trade. Don’t worry, your broker does everything automatically for you. The margin will be returned to your trading account once you close your leveraged trade or it hits its exit price. The following table shows the required margin to open a trade, based on the used leverage ratio. For example, a leverage of 100:1 requires a margin of 1%.

The blender costs $100 to manufacture, and the U.S. firm plans to sell it for €150—which is competitive with other blenders that were made in Europe. If this plan is successful, the company will make $50 in profit because the EUR/USD exchange rate is even. Unfortunately, the USD begins to rise in value versus the euro until the EUR/USD exchange rate is 0.80, which means it now costs $0.80 to buy €1.00.
