Nowadays, there are also web-based and mobile-based trading platforms which can be opened directly in your browser or installed on your smartphone. Check with your broker if those types of platforms are offered.

If you are concerned about trading foreign currencies without the leverage, we can tell you that some great traders in the market do not use leverage. The following example will illustrate how this can still work. For instance, you buy $2000 with the 1600 EUR. So, in the worst case, if the price of USD drops by 50%, you are not bad. In this case, you are still left with 800 EUR. On the other hand, if you use the leverage ratio 100:1, bear in mind that you will lose all of the money. Sometimes different forex platforms use a number of different buzz words, all of which might mean the same thing, but tend to confuse the average beginner. There are also literally thousands of acronyms in the forex trading scene, this section is designed to get you up to date with the most important ones, any that you don’t know simply Google and you should get a good enough definition from Investopedia. This section also talks about margins, spreads and other variables between different options.
Now, let's say a call option on the stock with a strike price of $165 that expires about a month from now costs $5.50 per share or $550 per contract. Given the trader's available investment budget, he or she can buy nine options for a cost of $4,950. Because the option contract controls 100 shares, the trader is effectively making a deal on 900 shares. If the stock price increases 10% to $181.50 at expiration, the option will expire in the money and be worth $16.50 per share ($181.50-$165 strike), or $14,850 on 900 shares. That's a net dollar return of $9,990, or 200% on the capital invested, a much larger return compared to trading the underlying asset directly. Good read and very useful the only part that lets this book down are the images! It is stated you can view the on her website but once you get there you need a password, what the password is your guess is as good as mine! Also several times in the book Anna will be talking about a set image but that image is a page back which is annoying when you're trying to read and scan the image.
This means that you don’t have to cover the full position size, but only deposit a fraction of it to cover the possible losses. As long as your trade is active, your FX broker will lock up the required margin and only free it back to you once the position is closed. This enables traders to execute much larger trades than they could otherwise afford.

It's an excellent pick for investors who prefer having examples and models to demonstrate different outcome scenarios before making a move. Though it's considered more of a technical read due to its heavy focus on numbers, the book may appeal to more advanced options investors who are looking for a firm theoretical grounding to drive decision-making.
Finally, the best forex brokers for beginners are those which offer social trading platforms for their beginner traders. Social trading provides a form of mentoring for beginner traders by allowing them to copy the same trades that the experienced traders are executing on the platforms. Trading in such communities simulates the same mentoring setup which is found in institutional trading desks. So if a forex broker offers social trading, such a broker is well on its way to being described as one of the best forex brokers for beginners.

As we mentioned earlier the spread is the difference between the bid and ask price. It is a bonus, or more specifically a commission you broker receives for the trade. So how do we know if we earned or lost money? It is quite simple, as we are using something called pip, and it stands for Percentage in Point. If you have a currency pair, and due to fluctuations in the market there is a change from 1200 to 1202, which means there is a 2 pip change. If you buy the EUR/USD currency pair, to profit, you want EUR to increase against USD. If you bought EUR for $1.7500 and you sell when the price reaches $1.7550, you made yourself a profit of 50 pips. On the other hand, if it lost value, it is a loss of 50 pips, and it would show as -50.
You don’t have time to sit and watch the markets every minute of every day. You can better manage your risk and protect potential profits through stop and limit orders, getting you out of the market at the price you set. Trailing stops are especially helpful; they trail your position at a specific distance as the market moves, helping to protect profits should the market reverse. Placing contingent orders may not necessarily limit your risk for losses.
